Our Mission

Our mission is to provide thorough evaluations and treatment options, to make sure that all of your questions are answered and that you have a clear understanding of how to help your pets live longer, healthier lives. We approach each patient with the goal of keeping them thriving, not just surviving, for as long as we can. We aim to truly integrate traditional and Chinese veterinary medicine.

Dr. Masters’ specialized training in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine gives her special insight into what conditions your pet could be predisposed to developing, even in puppyhood and kittenhood. In pets that have pre-existing illness, this extra training opens the door to additional treatment options, including herbal therapy, food therapy and acupuncture treatments.

Lastly, we are a locally owned small business with an interest in remaining environmentally conscious and using the highest quality, safest medications for your pets. For example, we use biodegradable pill vials and examination gloves. We limit the use of plastic when we have a choice.  We follow scientific research in choosing the most effective medications and treatments for your pets.

We would love for you to give us a try to see the difference we can make.  If you’ve seen Dr. Masters previously, you know that her approach to your pet and medicine is one-of-a-kind.

We are a team of experienced, compassionate pet parents and care providers who want to offer some new options in the care you provide for your pets. We offer holistic care that can diagnose and treat your whole pet, from nose to tail. Even the traditional things we do, like nail trims and vaccinations, we do in a way that limits stress to you and your pet when possible. And, when your furry friend is too nervous, timid, fearful we rely on pharmaceutical intervention to keep everyone’s stress and safety at the forefront of decision-making. We realize that our pet friends’ mental health matters, too, and we want to foster a friendly relationship over time.

Our care is patient-specific and family specific. Some pets will be so excited to see us and so willingly accept our treats that they may not realize they’ve had their physical examination or treatments. That’s our ultimate goal! Some pets just need us to do the clinical aspects of our jobs quickly, so they can relax. Some pets are timid and need us to talk sweetly and move slowly. We speak their language but are happy to have your advice in what works best for your kiddos as well. Their comfort and your comfort matter most—that’s why we come to you!

Our team is patient with you and your furry friends. We want what is best for them. Our goal is to come to your home and keep the clinical-feeling parts to a minimum. When your pet’s part of the visit is over, they can camp out on your couch, go run in the back yard or keep a watchful eye on us from a distance. Then, we can discuss our physical exam findings and recommendations. If we’re seeing your pet for a chronic issue (like arthritis or kidney disease), we can discuss how effective our current therapy is and what other options we have.
